Chapter 380 Let me dig the answer out of your mouth with my own hands
Upon hearing this, Ajie immediately stood up and began to prepare. Su Ming stood aside, pondering the possible risks and countermeasures. He knew that this operation could not go wrong. Lin Feng's acumen and meticulousness had exceeded expectations, but this was also an opportunity—the smarter the opponent, the easier it was for them to leave clues in their supposedly perfect plan.
Half an hour later, an unassuming black sedan pulled out of the basement and slipped silently into the night. The atmosphere inside the car was oppressive. As Ajie drove, he periodically checked the rearview mirror for any tailgating vehicles. Su Ming sat in the passenger seat, silently organizing his gear.
"Do you think Lin Feng will deliberately release false clues to delay our actions?" Ajie couldn't help but ask.
Su Ming smiled faintly, "It's possible, but that would be too much of a waste of resources for him. Lin Feng's style is precision, and he won't waste time on meaningless tricks. As long as we find a breakthrough point, we can pry open his plan."
Ajie nodded and immediately turned his attention back to driving. Su Ming tapped his fingers lightly on his knee, running through possible scenarios in his mind. If Lin Feng really had hidden the goods in the industrial zone, what would be the most likely next step? Wait for a response, or simply destroy the goods?
Thinking of this, his brows furrowed. Any possibility required a quick response, and time was undoubtedly the biggest enemy.
"What are the results of the drone reconnaissance?" Su Ming asked the technical team in the rear through the headset.
"There are heat source signals in the industrial area. There are not many of them, about five or six people, scattered in several buildings. But no large-scale accumulation of goods was found." The technician reported briefly.
Su Ming closed his eyes and thought for a moment. "This situation suggests they've already completed the initial handover. The goods may have been transferred in batches, or have already entered an underground passage. Let's retrieve nearby satellite imagery to confirm whether there are any hidden exits."
"Understood, we're working on it," the other party replied.
Upon hearing this, Ajie couldn't help but say, "If they have already started transferring in batches, our time will be even more urgent."
Su Ming nodded, "That's right, so this operation must be as clean and efficient as possible." His tone was low, but it revealed an irresistible force.
The car slowly drove into the outskirts of the industrial zone and stopped in a shadowed corner. Su Ming got out and looked around, his eyes calm and alert. Most of the buildings in the industrial zone had long been in disrepair, with mottled walls and broken windows, exuding a sense of desolation and dead silence.
"Act separately and try not to alert them." Su Ming said in a low voice, put the pistol back into his waist, and gently pulled down the brim of his hat to cover most of his face.
Ajie nodded, and the two of them dived in different directions. Su Ming's steps were brisk and silent, like a cheetah on the hunt. He approached a low-rise factory building and peered through a cracked window. It was empty, save for a few scattered wooden boxes and abandoned machinery.
He quietly entered the factory, moving cautiously while continuing to talk to Ajie through the headset. "Nothing's happening on the left. What's happening on your end?"
Ajie's voice came softly: "There seems to be someone in the building ahead, approaching and observing."
Su Ming nodded and gently reminded: "Be careful and don't expose yourself."
For the next ten minutes, Su Ming inspected both buildings, finding very few clues. His brows furrowed, a sense of unease rising within him. If Lin Feng's plan was truly merely a stall for time, then their actions might already be lagging behind.
Just as he was about to exit the last building, Ajie's voice suddenly came from his headset: "Target found. Two men in black are moving boxes in a warehouse. They are to your right."
Su Ming's eyes lit up instantly, and he quickly adjusted his direction, crouching down as he approached the target location. His heartbeat quickened slightly, but his mind became even more focused. He couldn't afford any more mistakes this time; these two men in black might be the breakthrough point.
He quietly climbed onto an abandoned iron scaffolding and surveyed the warehouse from above. Two men in black were using tools to open a large box, which appeared to be filled with some special equipment. Su Ming held his breath, his fingers already resting on the weapon at his waist.
"Keep calm and wait for the opportunity," he silently reminded himself. The current situation was complex and delicate, and any impatience could lead to failure in this game.
Su Ming watched the movements of the two men in black below him, his thoughts taut like a string, ready to explode at any moment. The scene before him puzzled him—these men didn't seem in a hurry to move the goods, but instead seemed to be inspecting or adjusting the equipment within the boxes. What was this? A simple transaction, or preparations for a larger operation?
Countless hypotheses flashed through his mind, but there was no time to delve into them. He slowed his breathing, his fingers groping for the button on his headset, and whispered, "Ajie, I've confirmed the target, but we're small. There might be others hiding in the shadows. What about you?"
Ajie's low voice came from the headset: "The perimeter has been cleared, and there are no other abnormalities. Do you need support?"
Su Ming thought for a moment and whispered, "No, continue to observe the surrounding situation to make sure there are no reinforcements coming out."
Ajie simply replied, "Understood," and silence returned to his earpiece. Su Ming adjusted his posture, leaning against a support post, trying to conceal his form while mentally calculating the best course of action.
If they attacked directly, they could subdue the two men in the shortest possible time, but this would risk alerting other enemies lurking in the shadows. If they waited for them to open the crate, they might be able to further confirm the nature and purpose of the cargo, but this would involve greater risk.
Time slowed down in his mind, and a few seconds seemed like an hour. In the end, he chose the second option - to take the risk and wait.
The men in black opened the box with increasing caution, pulling out a device that appeared to be assembled from multiple parts. Su Ming narrowed his eyes, examining it carefully, trying to discern its purpose. Even with his experience, he struggled to determine its purpose.
"The stuff being transported this time is truly bizarre," one of the men in black grumbled. "Before, we were able to move all those boxes directly, but this time we're being asked to inspect the equipment. What a hassle."
Another person said coldly, "Stop complaining and just do your job. Who dares to question the higher-ups?"
"But these things look..." The first man in black obviously wanted to say something, but stopped himself under the cold gaze of his companion.
Su Ming frowned slightly, having grasped some key information from this conversation. This shipment was clearly different from previous operations, even the men in black carrying out the mission were puzzled. This suggested that Lin Feng's actions this time might be hiding a deeper purpose.
Just as he was thinking, he heard light footsteps outside the warehouse. Su Ming tensed up and quickly adjusted his position, looking in the direction of the sound.
A slender woman appeared at the warehouse door, wearing a dark grey windbreaker and a stern expression. Her appearance caused the men in black in the warehouse to stop what they were doing immediately, clearly wary of her.
"Report progress." The woman's voice was cold and majestic, without a trace of superfluous emotion.
"The equipment has been inspected and there are no problems. It can be moved at any time." One of the men in black replied quickly, with a hint of caution in his tone.
The woman nodded, her eyes swept across the box, then raised her head, as if sensing something. Her gaze swept towards where Su Ming was. Su Ming's heart tightened, but he remained calm and motionless.
"How is the security around here?" the woman withdrew her gaze and asked calmly.
"It has been confirmed to be safe. There is nothing unusual except us." The man in black replied.
The woman nodded slightly. "Very good. However, it's always better to be cautious. Send more people to the perimeter and deploy a few more people to ensure the absolute safety of this shipment."
Upon hearing this, Su Ming secretly felt thankful that the other party hadn't discovered him yet, but he also felt a sense of urgency. If the perimeter increased its security, his retreat route would become even more dangerous.
The woman clearly didn't intend to stay in the warehouse for long. After inspecting the box, she turned and left. The man in black continued his work, placing the equipment back into the box and began to seal it.
"Time to strike," Su Ming said to himself. He quickly checked his surroundings and looked for the best angle to attack.
Just as the two men in black had completely sealed the box, Su Ming suddenly leaped down from the iron frame. His movements were clean and smooth, making almost no unnecessary noise. He landed with a tumble, his weapon pointed accurately at the back of one of the men's heads.
"Don't move." Su Ming's voice was low and cold, but it carried an irresistible majesty.
The two men in black froze for a moment, but one of them reacted quickly, whipping out the weapon from his waist. However, before he could even begin, Su Ming had already pulled the trigger, and a bullet accurately struck his shoulder, sending him falling to his knees in pain.
Seeing this, the other man in black did not dare to act rashly and slowly raised his hands to signal surrender.
"Very good." Su Ming sneered, took a quick step forward, kicked away the two men's weapons with his feet, and tied them up with a nylon rope.
"You... who are you?!" the man in black who was hit asked gritting his teeth, his forehead covered with cold sweat.
Su Ming did not answer. Instead, he turned his gaze to the uninjured man in black and said coldly, "You have two choices. Tell me the purpose of this shipment, or let me dig the answer out of you myself."
The man in black was obviously unwilling to cooperate, gritting his teeth and saying nothing.
"Very good, very loyal." Su Ming said lightly, but there was no trace of praise in his tone. He took out a syringe from his pocket and shook it gently.
"What is this?!" The man in black finally showed a look of fear.
