Chapter 206 The Enemy Appears
Chapter 206 The Enemy Appears
In the mountains, shrouded in mist, the expedition team weaved through the dense forest, their destination drawing nearer and nearer, and the unknown treasure seemed to beckon them. However, within this seemingly peaceful mountain range, an unknown danger lay hidden.
Suddenly, a burst of hurried footsteps broke the silence around, and then a group of robbers dressed in black and wearing hideous masks rushed in from all directions, their eyes flashing with greed and cruelty.
"Hmph, you bunch of ignorant brats, how dare you lay your hands on our treasures!" A burly bandit leader with a hoarse voice stood up. The big knife in his hand flashed coldly in the sunlight, as if he would swing it at the expedition team at any time.
Yun Yi's face was solemn. He knew very well that the strength of this group of bandits should not be underestimated, but he did not retreat. Instead, he stepped forward and stood in front of the expedition team.
"Treasure? It's originally ownerless, why can't we take it? But you, for the treasure, use any means necessary, even set a trap, it's really shameful!" Yun Yi's voice was sonorous and powerful, full of a sense of justice.
The bandit leader sneered, seemingly not taking Yun Yi's words to heart. He waved his hand, and the bandits behind him immediately got ready to attack.
"Stop talking nonsense and show us your true strength!" The bandit leader shouted, jumped up suddenly, and pounced on Yun Yi like a beast.
Yun Yi snorted coldly, and instead of retreating, he advanced, clashing head-on with the bandit leader. The two figures crossed in the air, swords flashing and shadows flashing, and the battle was extremely fierce.
Arya and Kevin saw this and immediately joined the fight. Arya's sword, like a serpent, weaved through the bandits, leaving them falling wherever she passed. Kevin, relying on his immense physical strength, engaged several of the bandits, his blows landing on their flesh and leaving them wailing.
The other members of the expedition were equally fierce, each displaying their unique skills in a fierce battle with the bandits. The sounds of battle and screams mingled throughout the mountains, creating an exceptionally brutal scene.
During the battle, Yun Yi gradually discovered the bandits' weaknesses. While their strength was impressive, their coordination was lacking, clearly a makeshift group. Furthermore, their attack methods were monotonous and lacked variety, making them easy to predict.
"Everyone, pay attention. Their cooperation is not tacit. We just need to distract their attention and then defeat them one by one to win!" Yun Yi shouted loudly, his voice was particularly clear in the battle.
Upon hearing this, the expedition members immediately adjusted their tactics and began to distract the bandits. They attacked, defended, advanced, and retreated, catching the bandits off guard.
The bandit leader was furious upon seeing this. He hadn't expected the expedition team to be so cunning and able to see through their weaknesses. With a roar, he leaped up and lunged at Yun Yi again, attempting to overpower him with his immense strength.
However, Yun Yi didn't engage him head-on. He nimbly dodged the bandit leader's attacks, looking for an opportunity to strike back. Finally, during one of his evasive maneuvers, Yun Yi spotted a weakness in the bandit leader's attack. With a fierce thrust of his sword, he pierced the bandit leader's chest.
The bandit leader's body collapsed weakly, the light in his eyes gradually fading. His death seemed to have brought a great shock to the bandits. They all stopped attacking and stood there in a daze.
"The leader is dead! Run!" one of the robbers shouted and turned to flee. The other robbers followed suit and disappeared without a trace in the blink of an eye.
The expedition members breathed a sigh of relief as they watched the bandits flee. They knew that although the battle had been difficult, they had ultimately won.
"Is everyone okay?" Yun Yi asked with concern. He looked around and confirmed that none of the expedition team members were injured.
"We're all fine, thanks to you discovering their weakness in time." Arya said with a smile, her eyes gleaming with admiration. She knew that the victory in this battle was entirely due to Yun Yi's command and everyone's cooperation.
"Yes, Yun Yi, you are so awesome! We didn't expect the robbers to be so weak." Kevin also came over, patted Yun Yi on the shoulder and said with a smile.
Yun Yi smiled faintly, but he remained vigilant. He knew that while he had successfully defeated the bandits this time, the road ahead was still long, and danger could strike again at any time. Furthermore, he still had one unanswered question in his mind: how did these bandits know of the treasure's existence? Was there a larger force behind them manipulating them?
"Don't be too happy, everyone. We still need to be careful. These bandits won't give up. There may be even greater forces behind them." Yun Yi said in a deep voice, his eyes gleaming with determination. He knew that only by remaining vigilant could the expedition team's safety be guaranteed.
"Yes, Yun Yi is right. We can't let our guard down and must remain vigilant at all times." Arya nodded in agreement. She knew Yun Yi's concerns were not unnecessary; only by being well prepared could they face the challenges of the future.
"Alright, everyone, take a break and regain your strength. We'll continue on our journey to find the treasure," Yun Yi said, motioning for everyone to sit down and rest. He knew that only by maintaining sufficient strength could they face the challenges ahead. And that mysterious treasure seemed to be waiting for them up ahead.
