Chapter 167 The Weakness of the Spirit Monster

Chapter 167 The Weakness of the Spirit Monster

The dim stone chamber was filled with a chilling atmosphere, as if every inch of air held an unknown malevolence. Arya held her staff, magical light dancing from her fingertips, illuminating the surrounding area. However, this also attracted the terrifying spirits and monsters from the depths of the stone chamber. These creatures, elusive and ghostly, wandered freely in the darkness, emitting shrill roars that chilled the heart.

"Yun Yi, Kevin, be careful, these monsters seem to be reacting to our magical light." Arya gripped her staff tightly, her eyes scanning the surroundings vigilantly. Her voice echoed in the empty stone chamber with a barely perceptible tremor.

Yun Yi stood nimbly beside Arya, longsword in hand. His eyes were sharp as an eagle, ready to respond to any sudden attack. "It seems they don't like light, Arya. Try increasing the brightness of your magic and see if you can expose their weakness."

Kevin, holding two daggers, nimbly moved between the two men. A playful smile graced his face, as if he was genuinely interested in these monsters. "Good idea! I'd also like to know where these guys' bottom line lies."

Arya took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and concentrated. She swung her staff suddenly, and a dazzling light erupted, illuminating the entire stone chamber like daylight. The spirit monsters that had been roaming freely in the darkness suddenly stopped in their tracks when they came into contact with the sudden light, emitting bursts of piercing screams, as if bound by some invisible force.

"It really works!" Arya shouted excitedly, her voice full of surprise.

Yun Yi seized the opportunity and swung his sword. The sword flashed like lightning and went straight for the head of a monster. The monster seemed to realize the danger and tried to dodge, but under the shining light, its movements became much slower. In the end, Yun Yi's sword pierced its head and turned into a wisp of black smoke and dissipated.

"Their core is in their heads!" Yun Yi quickly concluded, and reminded Arya and Kevin, "Focus on attacking their heads, and we should be able to completely destroy them."

Upon hearing this, Arya and Kevin adjusted their attack strategies. Arya's magic shone brighter, and she continuously fired beams of light power at the monsters. Each beam of light could temporarily stop the monsters, creating opportunities for Yun Yi and Kevin to attack.

Kevin, like a ghost, moved through the horde of monsters. His twin daggers stabbed each monster's head with lightning-fast precision. Every time his daggers pierced a monster's head, a puff of black smoke would billow out, accompanied by the monster's shrill howls, before eventually dissipating completely.

The battle progressed in a tense yet orderly fashion. The light within the stone chamber grew brighter, and the spirit monsters struggled beneath it. Their roars and wails blended together to form an eerie symphony. However, within this symphony lay an indescribable sense of tragedy and determination.

"Arya, hold on, your light is the key to our victory!" Yun Yi encouraged Arya while swinging his sword to kill the monsters.

Arya gritted her teeth, her face pale, but her staff remained pulsing. She knew she couldn't fall, or all three of them would perish in this stone chamber. So, she suppressed her fatigue and continued to increase the output of her magical light, illuminating the entire stone chamber like the blazing sun.

"Don't worry, I'm fine." Arya gasped. Her voice was weak but full of determination. "As long as you can hit them on the head, I can hold on."

Kevin weaved through the horde of monsters, his movements becoming increasingly faster, each strike clean and precise. He knew the key to this battle lay in the coordination of the three of them; a single mistake could lead to the collapse of the entire battle. Therefore, he dared not slack off for even a moment, throwing himself into the battle with all his might.

As time went on, the number of monsters in the stone chamber gradually decreased, and their wailing became weaker and weaker. Arya's light began to dim, and her physical strength was close to the limit, but she still persisted, unwilling to give up.

"Arya, you take a rest for a while, I will take over." Yun Yi saw that Arya was tired, he quickly swung his sword to kill the remaining monsters, and said to Arya at the same time.

Arya shook her head, her eyes gleaming with determination. "No, I can still hold on. Focus on your attacks. I will never let the light go out."

Kevin also joined in the persuasion. "Arya, don't push yourself. We're almost winning. You take a break and we'll take care of the rest."

However, Arya shook her head stubbornly. "No, I will fight with you to the end."

Yun Yi and Kevin smiled helplessly at each other. They knew Arya's temper; once she made up her mind, it was hard to change it. So, they stopped trying to persuade her and instead attacked the remaining monsters even harder.

Finally, under the light of Arya, Kevin killed the last monster with one blow. Peace returned to the stone chamber, and the horrifying roars and wails completely disappeared.

Arya breathed a sigh of relief. Her body was shaky, but her face was a look of triumph. "We won."

Yun Yi and Kevin quickly came to Arya's side. They helped the exhausted Arya sit down and asked with concern, "Are you okay?"

Arya smiled and shook her head. "I'm fine, just a little tired. Thank you, without your cooperation, we wouldn't have been able to defeat these monsters so easily."
