Chapter 348: Brothers, let's fight our way out!
The officers and soldiers demonstrated well-trained combat skills, cooperating with each other to form a tight formation and advancing step by step.
A soldier brandished his rifle, knocking down several bandits who charged at him, and shouted, "Brothers, let's break out!"
The bandits launched a fierce counterattack, brandishing various weapons and shouting menacing slogans.
The battle was extremely fierce, with the sounds of clashing metal, shouts of battle, and screams of agony all mingling together, creating a deafening roar.
Fang Xiaoxiao charged through the crowd, sustaining multiple injuries, but she seemed oblivious to the pain, continuing to fight fiercely.
Suddenly, a bandit caught her off guard and swung his knife at her. At that critical moment, Pei Yan arrived just in time and used his knife to block the bandit's attack.
"Watch out!" Pei Yan shouted.
Fang Xiaoxiao gave him a grateful look and continued fighting.
On the other side, a soldier was hacked to the ground by bandits. His comrades roared in anger and launched an even fiercer attack to avenge him.
As the battle continued, many men fell on both sides. Blood flowed across the ground, forming small streams.
But Fang Xiaoxiao and the others did not back down. They had only one belief in their hearts: they must break through!
Seeing that he couldn't break through her defenses, the bandit leader grew increasingly anxious. He personally took to the field, brandishing a huge machete, and charged towards Fang Xiaoxiao.
"Little girl, today is your death day!" the bandit leader roared.
Undeterred, Fang Xiaoxiao faced the bandit leader head-on. The two instantly clashed, their swords flashing and the situation fraught with danger.
Pei Yan was extremely anxious when he saw Fang Xiaoxiao in danger. He used all his strength to shake off the bandits around him and rushed towards Fang Xiaoxiao.
Just when the bandit leader thought victory was in his grasp, Pei Yan attacked him from behind, slashing his arm with a knife.
The bandit leader cried out in pain, dropping his machete. Fang Xiaoxiao seized the opportunity and stabbed him in the chest with her sword.
The bandit leader fell to the ground, and the bandits, seeing that their leader was dead, were thrown into chaos.
"Now's the time, charge!" Fang Xiao shouted.
With renewed vigor, the group broke through the bandits' defenses and rushed outwards.
However, the bandits did not give up the pursuit. They chased closely behind, constantly shooting arrows and throwing hidden weapons.
Fang Xiaoxiao and her group fought back as they ran, encountering numerous dangers along the way.
"Everyone, split up and run to distract them!" Fang Xiao shouted.
Following her instructions, the group split into several smaller groups and ran in different directions.
Fang Xiaoxiao, Pei Yan, and several soldiers slipped into a narrow alley. The bandits were in hot pursuit, their footsteps growing ever closer.
Suddenly, a high wall appeared in front of them.
"Climb up!" Fang Xiaoxiao shouted.
Everyone used all their strength to climb the high wall. The bandits chased them to the foot of the wall, but could only watch helplessly as they escaped.
Fang Xiaoxiao and the others dared not stop and continued running on the rooftops until they completely shook off the bandits' pursuit.
They huddled in an abandoned house, panting heavily, their faces filled with exhaustion and relief at surviving the ordeal.
"We finally escaped," Pei Yan said weakly.
Fang Xiaoxiao looked at him, her eyes full of determination: "This is just the beginning, we still have a long way to go."
After escaping the bandits' pursuit, Fang Xiaoxiao and the others dared not rest for a moment. Under the cover of night, they rushed towards the outskirts of the city without stopping.
The moonlight, like water, shone on their weary bodies. Fang Xiaoxiao held Pei Yan tightly, her eyes revealing both determination and vigilance.
Pei Yan's steps were slightly unsteady, but his gaze was equally firm as he gritted his teeth and tried his best to keep up with the group.
"Hurry up, everyone, don't stop!" Fang Xiaoxiao urged in a low voice, her voice tinged with urgency.
The sound of their rapid breathing and footsteps was exceptionally clear in the quiet night. They ran along the winding path, the trees on either side casting eerie shadows in the moonlight, as if concealing countless dangers.
Suddenly, a commotion arose behind them—the shouts of bandits and the sound of horses' hooves.
"Oh no, they're catching up!" a soldier exclaimed.
Fang Xiaoxiao's expression instantly turned serious. She stopped and looked back, only to see the flickering torchlight in the distance, with the figures of the bandits appearing and disappearing in the firelight.
"We can't let them catch up like this; we have to think of a way to deal with it," Fang Xiaoxiao thought quickly.
Pei Yan, panting heavily, said, "Xiao Xiao, let's find a place to ambush them and catch them off guard."
Fang Xiaoxiao nodded in agreement. She looked around and noticed a dense grove of trees by the roadside.
"Follow me, into the woods!" She led the group quickly into the woods.
The woods were pitch black, with only faint moonlight filtering through the leaves. Fang Xiaoxiao told everyone to spread out, find hiding places, and prepare to ambush the pursuing bandits.
She and Pei Yan hid behind a large tree, gripping their weapons tightly.
"Pei Yan, are you alright?" Fang Xiaoxiao asked with concern.
Pei Yan gritted her teeth and said, "Don't worry about me, I can handle it."
Soon, the sound of bandits' horses' hooves grew closer. They shouted loudly, their voices echoing through the woods.
Fang Xiaoxiao held her breath, her heart pounding. Once the bandits entered the woods, she gave the order: "Attack!"
In an instant, officers and soldiers rushed out from all directions.
Fang Xiaoxiao, like an agile leopard, leaped towards a bandit, her short sword aimed precisely at his throat.
Pei Yan was not to be outdone. Despite his weak body, he fought bravely against the bandits with his indomitable will.
A bandit swung his broadsword at Fang Xiaoxiao, but she dodged to the side and slashed the bandit's arm with her own sword. The bandit cried out in pain.
On Pei Yan's side, he engaged in a fierce battle with a strong bandit.
The bandits were very strong, and Pei Yan gradually found himself at a disadvantage. Just then, Fang Xiaoxiao arrived in time and kicked one of the bandits in the back, helping Pei Yan escape his predicament.
"Thank you!" Pei Yan said.
"Don't get distracted, be careful!" Fang Xiao shouted.
The battle intensified, and the bandits realized they had been ambushed, launching a fierce counterattack.
Fang Xiaoxiao weaved through the woods, skillfully dodging the bandits' attacks.
Her clothes were torn by tree branches, and her face was covered in mud, but her eyes remained full of fighting spirit.
Pei Yan used the trees for cover and continued to ambush the bandits. Although his movements were not as agile as before, every move he made was full of determination.
Taking advantage of Fang Xiaoxiao's inattention, a bandit attacked her from behind. Pei Yan reacted quickly and blocked the attack with his body.
