Chapter 579: Black Lightning Descends, Dragon Roars from the Earth!
Chapter 579: Black Lightning Descends, Dragon Roars from the Earth!
The ground in Elbaf was shaking more and more violently.
A muffled thud rose from beneath my feet, once, twice, the intervals getting shorter and shorter. Within seconds, the scattered thuds coalesced into a continuous roar. The vibration frequency skyrocketed. The sound of ice cracking pierced my ears like shattered glass. The stone path crumbled inch by inch. The foundations of collapsed houses simultaneously ripped outwards. Cracks tore wildly in all directions like a spiderweb.
Garin Saint Station is at the very front of the encirclement.
He had just raised his arm half an inch, and was about to open his mouth to order the three generals to surround and kill Rocks and Whitebeard, when the ice beneath his feet exploded.
boom.
A crack several meters wide was ripped open, revealing a dark abyss from which a chilling wind howled upwards. Garin's body lurched, the attack command stuck in his throat. He grabbed his longsword with a backhand stroke, the blade plunging fiercely into the rock. Sparks flew. He managed to steady himself using the resistance.
The navy's encirclement formation shattered on the spot.
Green Bull and Chaton were forced to hop to either side. Kizaru also stopped his photon transformation. A dozen or so CP0 elites hopped around on the ruins, frantically searching for footholds as if stepping on hot plates. The entire battlefield's rhythm was abruptly cut off by this earth-shattering event.
The sky above Elbaf. A massive black vortex swirled in the center of the clouds. Gale-force winds whipped the swirling snow into white, razor-sharp blades. A bolt of purplish-black lightning struck down without warning.
fast.
The lightning cleaved the dark sky in two, striking precisely a nightmare monster.
The monster was lunging at the two wounded giants carrying stretchers, its mouth agape. A bolt of purplish-black lightning swallowed its entire body whole.
The two giant warriors beside them were dumbfounded.
My legs went weak.
They thought they were doomed. But the lightning didn't strike them at all. The two stood there, dazed, staring blankly at the sky. The lightning hadn't struck them!
The second bolt of lightning struck.
The third one followed immediately.
Dozens of purplish-black lightning bolts crashed down from the clouds like dumplings being dropped into a pot.
These mines are like having navigation.
The purplish-black lightning only targeted the Nightmare Monster and Garin's group.
Kizaru stood on a broken stone tablet.
The golden light blast from his fingertip had been retracted. He looked up. His brown sunglasses reflected the chaotic purple-black lightning bolts crisscrossing the sky. The lightning changed direction. Changed again. A precise strike.
"Oh my gosh... this lightning is really unusual."
He began to speak in that signature lazy tone.
Green Bull stood not far from the ruins. The vines beneath his feet had been growing vigorously. A bolt of purplish-black lightning struck three meters away, killing a monster instantly. The aftershock swept across the ground. The thick vines beneath Green Bull's feet instantly curled and turned black, as if charred by fire.
The green cow's teeth were grinding loudly.
Cha-tun stood at the edge of the crevice, a short sword across his chest. His eyes were fixed on the dense web of lightning in the air. The lightning hadn't struck him, but he dared not take a single step.
The aura of destruction emanating from above was too overwhelming.
His intuition told him that moving would mean death.
On the other side of the battlefield, Rocks' face looked completely different.
At this moment, Rocks could no longer suppress the smirk on his face.
His eyes snapped open, a fervent fire burning within them. In front of Garin, in front of the three generals, in front of the Knights of God and all the giants, he threw his head back and laughed.
"Hahaha! They're here! They've finally arrived!"
The laughter was wildly unrestrained.
Whitebeard stood next to Rocks.
He carried Murakumogiri with one hand, his brows furrowing. He turned to look at his old rival beside him, who was grinning shamelessly on the battlefield.
"Lox, why are you laughing like an idiot? What's wrong with you on the battlefield?!"
The white-bearded man's voice was like the ringing of a bell. Rocks heard it. Without turning his head, he simply raised his right hand and gestured for the white-bearded man to shut up.
His eyes were fixed on the largest crack in front of him.
The veins on his white beard bulged.
He really wanted to slap the back of Rocks' arrogant face with a knife.
But they didn't take any action.
Because the terrifying aura from deep underground was getting closer and closer. It was far beyond what was reasonable to imagine. The white-bearded man suppressed the urge to punch someone and focused all his attention on the abyss ahead.
Rocks stopped laughing.
He lowered his right hand. He raised his left hand, pointing to the widest crack at his feet. His voice was lowered, but all the top experts present heard him clearly.
"Newgate, get ready, something terrible is about to appear."
The white-bearded man's brows furrowed even more deeply. He opened his mouth to ask another question.
A sudden change occurred.
A tangible black aura erupted from the crack.
The dozen or so Nightmare monsters around were swept head-on and instantly killed!
The fissure in the earth widened suddenly under the impact of the blast wave. The rock layers were shattered like cookies. Large swathes of soil and rock collapsed to both sides.
What emerged first were two enormous, jet-black horns.
Then a huge dragon head covered in black scales rose up.
The dragon's head was so enormous it was breathtaking. Each black scale was like the hardest shield, its edges gleaming with a cold, metallic sheen. The moment the dragon's head rose from the ground, the entire battlefield trembled in shock.
The dragon opened its eyes.
Dark red vertical pupils.
There were no human emotions whatsoever. Only the most primal and pure desire for destruction. The vertical pupils swirled, mercilessly locking onto all the remaining nightmare monsters on the battlefield. The moment those eyes fixed upon them, the monsters let out terrified screams.
The dragon's mouth was slightly open.
A scorching lightning bolt erupted from deep within his throat.
Where the dragon's breath swept, the rocks instantly turned a dark red. The stones began to melt. The air distorted violently under the intense heat. Several members of the nearby Divine Knights paled, abandoning their positions and leaping backward in a series of backward bounds. They looked utterly disheveled.
The black dragon's body rose up from the ground segment by segment.
Big.
It is so big that it has no end.
The black scales devoured light. Any light that approached was completely absorbed. The area where the black dragon stood became an absolute realm of darkness.
Finally, its spine completely left the ground.
It spread out those two wings that blotted out the sky.
The wind pressure caused it to explode.
A howling wind swept across the entire battlefield. The still-burning wreckage of houses collapsed like pieces of paper. The ruins were instantly leveled. Layers of the ground were scraped away.
Garin's eyes darkened. He gripped his sword with both hands, his blade enveloped in jet-black Armament Haki. He held the longsword horizontally in front of him, bracing himself against the attack. His feet carved two deep furrows into the ground.
Kizaru sighed. His body transformed into countless golden photons, weaving through the gale and nimbly dodging the boulders swept high into the sky.
Green Bull slammed his hands on the ground. Thick vines burst forth from the earth, weaving together to form a plant barrier. But he underestimated the black dragon's power.
The black dragon raised its head.
"roar!"
The dragon's roar materialized into a sonic wave. The vine barrier in front of Green Bull trembled violently. It held for less than two seconds. The thick vines snapped inch by inch. Green Bull's blood surged, forcing him to retreat three steps.
The black dragon burst completely out of the ground.
Its massive body soared into the air, hovering above Elbaf. A colossal shadow loomed over the entire battlefield.
The fighting stopped.
The giant warriors stopped swinging their battle axes. The three admirals of the navy stood amidst the ruins. The members of the Knights of God gripped their weapons tightly. Whitebeard carried Murakumogiri. Rocks crossed his arms.
All eyes followed the massive dragon's body upwards.
They all looked up.
Against the backdrop of a dark red sky, everyone could clearly see the image on the dragon's head.
Two figures stood atop the enormous black dragon's head.
One of them was Luffy in his Nikka form. His entire body was covered in pure white battle intent. His white hair danced wildly in the wind. White mist swirled around him. He stood between the dragon horns, one hand resting on his straw hat, a bright smile on his face.
Clear and clean eyes.
Standing at his feet was another one. A small squirrel. Its tail held high. Its fur bristled. It excitedly hopped around on the black dragon's hard scales, squeaking at the battlefield below. The black dragon's terrifying aura? It had nothing to do with it. (´•ω•`)
The battlefield was deathly silent.
Everyone's minds were racing. The giants stared wide-eyed. The naval commanders were ashen-faced. A flicker of surprise crossed the white-bearded man's eyes.
A black dragon blots out the sky. An ancient aura of destruction pervades the world. On the dragon's head sits a boy wearing a straw hat.
An idea that was both incredibly crazy and undeniably real exploded in everyone's minds at the same time.
This black dragon is very likely the Elbaf prince who was imprisoned in the underworld for ten years.
