Chapter 34 The Young Lady Takes Action
Chapter 34 The Young Lady Takes Action
Goblins surged up from both sides, numbering about twenty or thirty.
These short, green-skinned monsters carried rusty daggers, sharpened sticks, and even half-broken hoes.
They howled and pounced on Wang Yao, like a swarm of locusts frantically attacking crops.
Wang Yao remained completely still.
A goblin's dagger struck the shield with a piercing sound.
The cratered shield remained unharmed, but the goblin's blade was chipped. Wang Yao flicked his wrist and slammed the shield horizontally.
"Smack!"
The goblin flew seven or eight meters away like a green marble, bounced twice on the ground, and then stopped moving.
Another small goblin darted to his side and poked him wildly with a stick.
Wang Yao glanced down, his face beneath the mask showing only indifference.
He raised his shield, aimed it at the goblin's head, and slammed it down.
The goblin turned into goblin sauce.
Before a sound could even be uttered, all that remained on the ground was a pool of green stuff and a few broken pieces of wood.
The remaining goblins charged forward like madmen. Wang Yao blocked their path with his shield and swept his left fist across them, killing them one by one. Green blood splattered all over his plate armor.
In less than two minutes, the ground was littered with the remains of goblins.
Wang Yao flicked the green liquid off his hands, and a disdainful snort came from behind his mask.
"That's it?"
Su Qing walked over from behind, her gaze sweeping over the goblin corpses on the ground.
There were quite a few of them, but their individual combat strength was extremely low. This premeditated ambush trap, from the wreckage of the carriage to the looping cries, was designed in a very sophisticated manner.
But the executors were a bunch of ragtag soldiers who couldn't even scratch Wang Yao's armor.
Not right.
"These are just pawns." Su Qing drew his musket from his waist and flicked the hammer away with his thumb. "Anyone capable of setting up a trap wouldn't be of this caliber."
Selena also walked over, glanced down at the wreckage on the ground, and kicked a chipped dagger with her toe.
"This must be what they call an appetizer."
As soon as she finished speaking, a rhythmic vibration came from the soles of her feet.
Su Qing looked up and followed the direction of the sound.
In the weeds ahead, several huge figures slowly stood up.
It still looks like a goblin, with pointed ears, green skin, and a ferocious face.
But their size was on a completely different scale. Each one was over two meters tall, with arms as thick as Wang Yao's thighs, and they were holding clubs carved from whole logs.
Three.
Su Qing gave them temporary names.
Big Goblin.
But where was it hidden before, given its enormous size?
Those weeds are only half a meter tall, could they be lying on the ground?
He didn't dwell on such questions. He raised his musket, aimed at the head of the largest goblin in front, and pulled the trigger.
"Bang!"
The bullet struck the head precisely; the lead bullet tore through the green skin and pierced the skull.
The goblin's head exploded, its massive body stumbled forward two steps, and crashed to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
One shot, and he was dead.
Just as Wang Yao was about to rush forward to stop the remaining two enemies, his arm was suddenly pulled.
Selena stood beside him and shook her head.
"Senior, don't rush."
Wang Yao stopped and looked at the rich woman with a puzzled expression.
"This may not even be the main course." After saying this, Selena looked at Su Qing.
Wang Yao understood; the Hell Dungeon was not an easy dungeon, and you couldn't just rush in whenever you saw something.
He turned and walked back to Su Qing's side, first taking off the blood and tears strip from his neck and hanging it back around Su Qing's neck as she was loading ammunition into the musket.
Then he set up his shield and positioned it directly in front of Su Qing.
Just as the shield was firmly planted, several arrows flew in from the upper diagonal.
"Ding ding ding!"
The arrow bounced off the shield with little force, but at a tricky angle.
Wang Yao steadied his shield and said in a deep voice, "Archers, location unknown."
Su Qing lowered his head and loaded the bullets, his fingers moving extremely fast.
"Location?"
Selena had already taken a small monocular telescope out of her pink handbag and quickly scanned the area in front of her.
"At twelve o'clock, about sixty meters away, behind the weeds, there are six."
Su Qing looked up and followed the direction she had pointed. Six green heads emerged from the weeds, holding short bows and nocking a second volley of arrows.
Su Qing finished loading the gun, raised his hand, and fired.
"Bang!"
The goblin archer on the far left tilted its head and fell into the bushes.
Meanwhile, the remaining two goblins had closed in to within fifteen meters.
The ground trembled with their footsteps as they raised their clubs high above their heads and brought them down with a whooshing sound.
Wang Yao instinctively stepped aside to block Su Qing. "Su, back off!"
Su Qing did not back down. He stretched out his left hand and pressed it against Wang Yao's shoulder armor.
Wang Yao was taken aback.
Su Qing looked past him and at Selena.
This is a good opportunity.
He wanted to see what this young lady was capable of.
Anyway, he still had a few grenades on hand, so even if this young lady was not capable of fighting or was unwilling to take action, he was still able to deal with the worst-case scenario.
"Selena."
"Um?"
"These two are facing forward. Are you okay with them?"
Selena tilted her head, her expression somewhat subtle.
"Actually, people don't really like doing this kind of thing."
She paused for a second, then her smile broadened.
"But what can we do? It's the captain's request."
She reached into her pink handbag with her right hand and pulled out a serrated knife about sixty centimeters long.
The blade is narrow and long, with a densely packed serrated edge, and a cold light flashes across the undulating edge.
Wang Yao's eyes were wide open behind the mask.
"What kind of weapon is this?!"
"So cool!"
Selena put her index finger to her lips and blinked.
"This isn't a weapon, senpai."
"It's just a kitchen utensil for cutting bones."
The next second, she touched the ground with her toes and disappeared from the spot.
When she reappeared, she was already standing next to the first giant goblin.
The serrated long knife slid horizontally, the movement gentle, like cutting a piece of butter with a dining knife.
So, the goblin's upper and lower body separated.
As the green blood spurted out, Selena had already floated to the front of the second one.
Her steps were extremely light and quick; the hem of her white shirt was lifted by the wind, and not a single drop of blood stained it.
One slash, a diagonal cut.
The second goblin's head slid off along with half of its shoulder.
Su Qing's lips curled up slightly.
This young lady's "second job support" was indeed a disguise.
The goblin archer in the distance spotted Selena and hurriedly turned his bow to aim in her direction.
Su Qing loaded the third bullet and raised the muzzle.
Before the archers could even let go, the bullets had already arrived.
This shot triggered a penetrating shot.
The lead bullet pierced the chest of the first archer and, with undiminished momentum, burrowed into the neck of the second archer behind it.
Both goblins fell down at the same time.
Seeing their companions fall one after another, the remaining goblin archers screamed and turned to run away.
But they had only taken two steps when a new goblin emerged from the bushes behind them.
This goblin was different from the others. It held a leather whip in its hand, had a belt made of teeth around its waist, and wore an iron helmet crookedly on its head.
It brandished its whip, lashing the archers across the ground, chattering and shouting in a high-pitched and urgent voice.
The archer was whipped, shuddered, and dared not run away. He turned around again and tremblingly raised his bow.
Su Qing witnessed this scene.
It can command other goblins and has different equipment; it's a boss-level monster.
Catch the thief first to catch the king.
He began loading the fourth bullet, pressing the bullet down with his thumb and pushing it into the muzzle.
Once this leader is eliminated, the remaining henchmen will collapse on their own.
Just as the muskets were about to be raised, a rapid sound of hooves came from behind.
