Chapter 325 Shadow Attack
Chapter 325 Shadow Attack
Zhongli Yueluo had no interest in listening to him; she was just staring at the empty road when she heard Dada's voice.
They initially thought it was Chang Yu Muling's steed that had been summoned back.
They then saw a murky black shadow, with what appeared to be eyes glowing red.
This left Chang Yu and Mu Ling speechless with fright, for it was a demon that only existed in their legends and stories.
He was so young and had no real combat experience that his hands and eyes trembled with fear.
Even though his palms were sweaty, he still wanted to protect Zhongli Yueluo who was standing next to him, so he stood in front of her.
"Don't...don't be afraid, Yue Luo." He stammered, showing how terrified he was.
Zhongli Yueluo stared at the dark figure, whose malice was quite obvious.
A chill ran down her spine, but she remained calm and patted Chang Yu Muling's arm.
"fine."
Then, she stood in front of Chang Yu Muling, completely blocking him. He looked at Zhong Li Yueluo's tightly furrowed brows.
His eyes were full of determination, though they also revealed fear, but not as obviously as his.
In an instant, he wondered again, who exactly was this Zhongli Yueluo in front of him?
Even though she was about the same age as him, or even younger, she wasn't afraid of this situation.
Then they heard a series of low, incoherent whispers coming from the shadowy figure, but they couldn't make out what they were saying.
It sounded like the noise of a broken bellows, or like the whistling of a sudden gust of wind blowing through a window crack.
Zhongli Yueluo looked around and her gaze fell on the whip tucked into Changyu Muling's waist.
She wasn't very comfortable using this kind of soft weapon, but it seemed to be the only one she could use right now.
The dark figure slowly approached them step by step, and Dada's voice seemed to pound on their hearts with each step.
It was as if you could hear their hearts pounding; Chang Yu and Mu Ling were extremely nervous.
A light sheen of sweat appeared on Zhongli Yueluo's forehead, and she swallowed hard, determined not to let the dark figure get any closer.
"Stop!" Zhongli Yuelu shouted, her voice even cracking slightly.
The dark figure was startled by the shout and stopped, seemingly tilting his head with a puzzled look on his face.
It made a few more gurgling sounds, perhaps in response, but they couldn't understand it.
"I don't understand what you're saying, but if you try to hurt both of us, you'll end up with a lose-lose situation!"
Zhongli Yueluo, in a fit of desperation, thought that at worst she would cut her own hand and forcefully shove it into his mouth.
Chang Yu Muling gripped Zhong Li Yueluo's clothes tightly: "Yueluo, he doesn't seem very kind."
Without him saying anything, and being not blind, she could naturally tell that the dark figure's target didn't seem to be Zhongli Yueluo.
His reddened eyes were fixed on Chang Yu Muling, and he trembled under that gaze.
Zhongli Yueluo picked up a whip and lashed it against the ground, making a hollow crack: "Get out of the way!"
The childish voice, though loud, had no deterrent effect whatsoever.
The shadowy figure vanished before their eyes in the blink of an eye, like a ghost.
Before he could react, Chang Yu Muling was already in his grasp.
He screamed "Ah!" without caring about saving face, but he didn't call for help.
He just looked at Zhongli Yueluo and said, "Yueluo, run!"
Zhongli Yueluo pursed her lips, looking at the tall, dark figure, wondering how to defeat the enemy.
The shadowy figure gripped Chang Yu Muling's neck, and his face was slowly turning red as he struggled to breathe.
"Yue...Luo, run away quickly."
At this moment, he did not call for help. Zhongli Yueluo raised her whip and hooked the arm of the dark figure.
However, she was not very strong and could only loosen it slightly, which was enough to allow Changyu Muling to catch her breath.
He saw tears glistening in Zhongli Yueluo's eyes. To be honest, if it were her own sister in this situation, she might have turned around and run away.
Zhongli Yueluo stood there, motionless, staring intently at the dark figure.
"What exactly are you? You're babbling incoherently, I can't understand a word you say!"
She had barely finished speaking when the dark figure grabbed her whip and hoisted her up.
Zhongli Yueluo held the whip with both hands, swinging it in the air until her hands were sore from the friction.
Then, the blood slowly flowed down his palm to his wrist and down.
Zhongli Yueluo channeled her magic, and the shadow lifted her into the air, landing her on his back.
He didn't have a suitable weapon, so even if they got close, he couldn't do anything to him.
"Mu Ling, do you have a dagger on you?" Zhong Li Yue Luo asked anxiously, her whip snatched away by the shadowy figure.
Chang Yu Muling struggled free and bit the dark figure's hand. The dark figure loosened his grip, and Chang Yu Muling used her strength to hang on his shoulder.
I don't know where it appeared from, but it looked more like an ornament, with various gemstones inlaid on it.
However, the dagger that fell from the scabbard was extremely sharp, and with a flick of the wrist, it forcefully stabbed into the back of the shadowy figure's neck.
It felt like plunging into empty space, like poking into cotton, with no real sense of obstruction.
The shadowy figure let out a whimper, then stopped struggling.
Chang Yu Muling also fell off him and landed on the ground, drenched in cold sweat.
As the dark shadow gradually dissipated, the shape of a steed appeared in the middle, which was the very steed that Chang Yu Muling had lost.
It's unclear why it turned out this way, but fortunately, Zhongli Yueluo didn't injure the beast's vital organs.
The wound was just a little to the side of the shoulder blade, and you could see the blood flowing non-stop.
Thinking the danger was over, she shook the blood off her dagger and walked up to Chang Yu Muling.
The steed suddenly sprang up, its two front legs raised, ready to trample them.
The red light in the steed's eyes hadn't dissipated yet. What had it been contaminated with to control it?
Zhongli Yueluo didn't have time to think much and took two steps forward to pull Changyu Muling aside.
With a powerful kick, Zhongli Yueluo was caught off guard and received a hard kick.
That small body flew straight out, and Chang Yu Muling roared, "No!"
Seeing that it was his own beast that had caused the disaster, he quickly whistled and chanted the incantation to control it.
But the more it listened to the sound, the more agitated it became, running wildly around the open space as if it were going mad.
Seeing that nothing was done, Chang Yu Muling quickly ran to Zhong Li Yueluo's side to check on her injuries.
"Yue Luo?"
Blood trickled from Zhongli Yueluo's mouth; the kick had dislodged her internal organs.
"Yueluo!" Changyu Muling's voice trembled, and he felt a wetness as he hugged her back.
It turned out that a large patch of skin had been kicked off his back, causing it to bleed. He choked up a little, tears streaming down his face.
It was all because of his poor cultivation that Zhongli Yueluo was injured while saving him.
After holding back for a long time, she finally managed to blurt out, "Yue Luo, please don't die!"
