Banshee's tears flowed even more fiercely. A pool of blood appeared beneath her, and countless hands emerged from it, dragging her completely into the pool. Instantly, the surroundings transformed into a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, filled with skeletons.
"Then I activate the Continuous Spell Card [Call of the Mummy]. If I have no monsters on my field, I Special Summon one Zombie monster from my hand. I Special Summon [Gatekeeper of Hell, Il-Blade] ATK: 2100 DEF: 800."
"A dual monster? How long has it been since I've seen a dual monster?" But before Di Xing could even reminisce, Zhuang Sini shouted again, "I'll summon [Gatekeeper of Hell] again, put it into dual state, activate its effect, and Special Summon [Giant Ghoul Magella] from the Graveyard. ATK: 2800 DEF: 2300"
"Go, Magella, attack his face-down monster!" Magella raised his broken sword and slashed at the face-down card on Dixing's field. The face-down card revealed its true form: a skeleton.
"Hahaha, just as I thought, a skeleton! Crush it!" The skeleton was sliced in two by Mojera's blade. "Go, gatekeepers of hell, attack his true form!"
"I activate my Trap Card, [Scrap Scarecrow], negate your attack, and then set this card back to the field."
"What a tenacious mouse! I'm ending this round."
While Johnny's maneuver might be considered incredibly weak in the real world, it's still far superior to the pathetic cannon fodder characters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! novels I've read, especially since my deck isn't even as good as his.
"My turn, draw a card, I set one card face-down, end my turn."
"You're such trash, low-level player. At least put up a fight! If you want me to have some fun, I'll give you a good beating later. Hehehe, my turn to draw cards! Hehehe, I activate the Quick-Play Spell Card [Whirlwind] to destroy your [Scrap Scarecrow], and then I'll Normal Summon Minotaur."
"Activate the effect of the Minotaur Demon to send one 'Despair from Darkness' from my Deck to the Graveyard. Then activate the effect of 'Gatekeeper of Hell' to Special Summon 'Despair from Darkness' from my Graveyard. ATK: 2800 DEF: 3000. Now I have four monsters on my field."
Out of a dark despair, looking at this card, Di Xing couldn't help but recall the days when he played with fake cards from ZZ Boys' Hall as a child. Back then, the card "Out of a Dark Despair" was printed incorrectly. The original text read, "If this card is sent from your hand or Deck to the Graveyard by your opponent's card effect, activate this effect; Special Summon this card." But the fake card printed it as, "If this card is sent from your hand or field to the Graveyard by your opponent, activate this effect; Special Summon this card." Thus, a truly immortal card was created. Di Xing used this fake card to make a bunch of his friends cry back then.
Johnny pondered for a moment. Most of the cards on the field were probably skeletons, after all, they were formed from the corpses of these trashy creatures; how strong could they be? However, just to be safe, he'd use [Gatekeeper of Hell] to attack. A normally summoned card shouldn't have more than 2000 defense, which would allow Magella to deal more damage.
"I'll attack with [Hell's Gate]!" Hell's Gate swung its fist and smashed it into the monster on the Di Xing field. A figure slowly appeared on the Di Xing field, an elegant noblewoman holding a coffee cup. But what was chilling was that her face was made of bare white bones, and the spider webs around her neck indicated that she had lived through a long time. [White Bone Lady] ATK:0 DEF:2200.
"A 3-star monster with a defense of 2200?"
Lady White Bone gracefully waved her hand, sending the gatekeeper of Hell flying. Johnny also suffered 100 points of recoil damage. "Child's play, Mojera, finish him off!" Mojera raised his broken greatsword again, slashing at Lady White Bone.
"I activated the second effect of the Bone King from my hand, discarding this card from my hand. It destroyed the Bone Lady in place of her battle, and since the Bone King was sent to the Graveyard, I activated its effect to add two Bone monsters from my Deck to my hand." Okay, I quickly glanced through my deck. It was better than I expected; I had the whole Bone family, especially that card.
"I choose to add the Bone Prince and Bone Princess to my hand, then discard the Bone Prince because he is sent to the graveyard. Then I send one Bone and one Bone Lady from my deck to the graveyard." A Bone Prince in the deck hopped and skipped straight to the graveyard to explore, and the Bone couple in the deck hurriedly chased after him.
"What's the point of sending more of this garbage to the graveyard? [Out of Dark Despair] Attack!" [Out of Dark Despair] flashed a Gengar-like smile, revealing its claws as it attacked Lady Bone.
"At that very moment, I activated the special effect of my hand card, Princess of Bones." A petite girl with long, golden-brown hair, wearing a princess dress but entirely composed of bones, appeared on the field. She gently lifted her skirt, gave a proper bow, and then suddenly made a face.
Because she's a skeleton, her ghostly face is incredibly powerful (a real ghostly face). Suddenly, all the monsters on the field sprouted bare bones, frantically absorbing their energy and restricting their movements. "Discard this card from your hand. All monsters on the field lose ATK and DEF equal to 300 times their Level. Level 8 'Despair from Darkness' loses ATK by 2400."
"What?!" The attack power of [Despair from Darkness] instantly dwindled to only 400 points. Its face showed the same terror as its master's, but its attack couldn't be stopped. On the other hand, Lady White Bone, although also affected by Princess White Bone's effect, with her defense reduced to 1300, calmly sipped her coffee, affectionately patting the head of the White Bone Princess she had brought to her.
"Bang!" The attack, born of dark despair, was deflected by Lady White Bone, but instead, she suffered 900 points of counter-damage. LP7900-900=7000
"You bastard!" Johnny was furious, but there was nothing he could do. Affected by the White Bone Princess's effect, he had no monsters on his field that could destroy her. He could only reluctantly say, "I end this turn."
Why not perform an Xyz Summon in Phase 2? There are cards in the Extra Deck, right? Maybe there aren't any powerful monsters. I was keeping a close eye on Johnny's two Level 8 monsters on the field, afraid he'd just play a [Hopeful Dragon Galactic Giant].
"My turn, draw a card, summon [Bullhead Demon] ATK:1700 DEF:800. Bullhead Demon's effect activates: send Horsehead Demon from the deck to the Graveyard, banish Horsehead Demon, and Special Summon Bone Princess from the Graveyard." The little princess gracefully returned to the field.
"Activate the special effect of the Bone Princess: When this card is Normal or Special Summoned, send one Bone Prince from your Deck to the Graveyard. When the Bone Prince goes to the Graveyard, send both Bone and Bone Lady from your Deck to the Graveyard."
A Bone Prince peeked out from the deck, noticed his sister wasn't near her dog, and immediately hopped off to the graveyard to find one. The Bone Princess and her husband from the deck then hurriedly chased after her. "I activate Bone Princess's 3rd effect, sending her to the graveyard and reducing the attack power of all allies."
