Chapter 161: Skill Shopping & Knowledge
Chapter 161: Skill Shopping & Knowledge
Erix, Rin, and Lilith entered the biggest skill store in the city.
The skill store was digitized but with magic. There were screens that displayed the skills' names with their effects and their price.
But Lilith directly went to one of the staff desks and said, "Show us Mana recovery passive skills of Tier-3."
Erix and Rin arrived behind her and curiously looked around, checking out the skills.
Many tempting active and passive skills! However, they weren't interested in buying active skills that much because it was more fun and fulfilling to create active skills based on their style.
"By the way, we can't use Tier-4 passive skills too?" Rin asked.
Lilith shook her head.
"Nope. Tier-4 passive skills will burden your body and mind, lowering your combat power since you don't have Prana."
"Here, we have three Tier-3 passive skills regarding mana regeneration," the staff lady was a dark elf. She presented information on three skills on a crystal tablet to Lilith.
Lilith handed the tablet to Erix. "Pick one you can utilize the best."
After reading them, he chose one he felt was best.
[ Mana Revera ]
_Type: Passive skill.
_Rank: Tier-3.
_Effect: Reduce mana consumption by 30% and take the other 30% cost from your stamina. You can convert stamina into mana with a 2:1 ratio.
"This is great," Erix said. "I want this one."
"I'll bring its skill scroll," the staff lady nodded with a sweet smile and went into a door that led to the library of skill scroll.
"As for other Tier-3 passive skills. Just take one of those hanging tablets and browse the skills. Pick the ones you like, and we'll buy them," Lilith said as she pointed at the row of hanging tablets in the store's center. Several people were looking through them already.
"Great," Rin chuckled and walked towards it.
Erix waited for a bit as the staff lady brought back the skill scroll. After he learned Mana Revera, he also went to pick the skills with Rin.
As for Lilith, she said to the staff lady, "Do you have any Tier-5 skills?"
"We have three in stock. Two are active, and one is passive," the staff lady quickly said, excitement dancing in her eyes. If someone was willing to buy Tier-5 skills, every staff would also get a big commission.
"Show," Lilith nodded.
On the other hand, Rin and Erix were browsing through the skills.
A few seconds later, Erix suddenly said with raised eyebrows as he saw a passive skill, "Babe, how about we take passive skills that directly boost us without too much bullshit?"
"Direct boost? Like stat increment?"
"Yep."
"That's perfect, actually," Rin rubbed her chin. "Our active skills are good, so as long as we have higher stats, we can destroy stronger hurdles. You will also be able to kill a Royal-order monster with higher stats."
Erix grinned.
"Strength. I will increase my strength to the highest. One punch and everything gone."
Rin chuckled, "That's perfect."
"Let's browse them."
After five minutes of browsing, the duo picked up the skills they wanted and went to the staff.
"Gentle Death?" Erix said.
"Yep. He won," Lilith smiled. "And he also got his wish of killing Savage Maw House's leader fulfilled by me."
"That old gramps was indeed powerful," Rin helplessly smiled. "He has Speed Concept! I really want that one."
"You will get it if you wish for it," Lilith mysteriously smiled. "Concept powers are awakened through your thoughts and the amount of desire and hard work you do for it while keeping it in mind."
Erix and Rin nodded. They had realized this, but it was still an obscure thing with no idea of how and when they would awaken more concepts.
"It's another matter to make progress in them, but you can definitely get it if you want to," Lilith added. "To make further progress in concept, you have to revolve your combat around it and make new additions with your concept as center."
"I see."
Erix and Rin noted while Lilith continued.
Lilith smiled and said, "Everyone's first-level concept is the same, but the effects of 2nd realm concepts depend on the individual."
"Wait, really? So, even if two people have the same concept in the 2nd realm, their power and influence in combat would be different?" Erix was surprised.
"Yep."
"I like that," Rin grinned.
Soon after that, the staff lady arrived with a bunch of scrolls.
"I apologize. We only have one Hyper Heart passive skill in stock, so only one of you can learn it," the staff lady put the scroll on the table and picked one before presenting it to them.
"But instead of that one, I got a similar one," she said. "Please inspect and check. It's a bit weaker than Hyper Force, so the price is also a bit lower."
—> Blood Engine (Tier-3 passive skill): +60 Agility +90 Strength.
"No problem, I'll take it," Rin said with a nod and turned to Erix. "Erix, you learn the Hyper Force."
"Alright," Erix smiled.
The duo quickly learned the skills as the scrolls vanished one by one while Lilith paid the bill.
"Thanks, sugar mommy," Erix laughed.
"What's that?" Lilith curiously asked.
Rin chuckled and explained the term, causing Lilith to wryly smile.
"Thank you for your patronage, customers."
" No discounts even though we bought so many things?" Erix asked, his eyebrows raised. "We won't come here a second time if that's the case."
The staff lady awkwardly smiled. "We don't have discounts."
"Tsk, nevermind then. We'll go to another shop next time when we want to buy Tier-4 and Tier-5 passive skills," Rin said as she turned around and started walking.
"Ah, w-wait. If you promise to buy higher-tier skills from here, I can talk to the manager," the dark elf quickly said.
Lilith watched in amusement. "Alright, go and talk. I just settled my old business and have yet to find a new one for more money."
...
In the end, the trio left with a 20% discount overall.
As they left the shop, Lilith asked, "Were you serious about coming back to buy more skills?"
Erix laughed. "Who knows? I don't feel obligated for it, but if we are here by then, we'll drop by for more skills."
"Exactly," Rin chuckled.
"That's good," Lilith couldn't help but laugh and agree with them.
