Chapter 185 City [2]
Chapter 185 City [2]
"Hey, Neil."
"Yeah."
As we walked through the lush green road covered with natural plants and branches of trees, Nadya called me, making me look back.
"Why is there Elven language used on that door when there's no sign of elves here?"
She asked, glancing around as she walked close to me.
"Hmm, I'm not sure about that," I mumbled, shaking my head.
And from what I remembered from the game, there wasn't any mention of elves there either.
'Then again, the door wasn't mentioned in the game either, it just said there were more than one entrance for this realm.'
"Something to do with you?" She asked again, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"What do you mean?"
"You know, the god thing," she replied, making an 'H' symbol with her hand.
".....Not this shit again," I grumbled, massaging my temples.
If this is something that the other 'me' has his hands on...
I will seriously be pissed at 'myself.'
I mean, come on. It's Nadya's mother we're talking about. I don't want to have anything to do with her.
'Let's just hope it's not the same case as Emily's mother.'
"Sigh..."
I sighed heavily as I moved towards the tall wall that separated the inner city from the outer city.
The wall covered the inner part of the city in a circular way, its height was enough to block any view of what lay inside, and it was wide enough to drown out any sound.
"... Would you relax, sister?"
I shifted my focus back to Nadya as she patted Elysia's arm.
Elysia's entire body was stiff, cold sweat pouring from her head. Her hand tightly clutched her spear as she cautiously scanned the area, ready to fight anything.
"Y-yeah," Elysia nodded before snapping at Nadya, "How am I supposed to relax? We are going to fight someone who is in Ascension Level!! ASCENSION LEVEL!!"
"Okay?" Nadya's tone remained unaffected as she innocently tilted her head, "I already know that, sister."
"Then why are you so calm!?" She grabbed Nadya's shoulders and shook her,
"have you not seen how powerful beings in Ascension Level are? Have you not seen how Grandma manhandled both of us when we fought her!?"
"...I do, sister." Nadya replied nonchalantly, "but if Eden brought me here, then it means he has something in mind."
"..Urgh.." Elysia groaned in frustration as she glared at me.
"What did I do?" I asked with a perplexed look on my face.
"That's what I want to ask." Walking closer towards me, Elysia replied, "What did you do to my sister?"
"... He fuc—."
"Don't you say that word, Nadya." Elysia's cheeks turned slightly red as she interrupted her sister.
We didn't ask to be born like that...
We didn't want to be hated....
We didn't want to wage war...
We wanted peace...
Not extinction..."
As I finished my words, I looked at Nadya and Elysia.
They both had a serious look on their faces as they stared at the bloody words.
"How the hell did someone reach that level and there?" Nadya asked, squinting her eyes.
"...Why are you focusing on that?" Frowning, Elysia replied, "Didn't you hear what it said?"
"It's important, you know," Nadya rebuked, "What if there is something that can actually fly?"
"Ugh... you're right," Elysia nodded her head as her eyes drifted back towards the words.
"Neil."
"Yeah?"
I glanced back as Elysia called me again.
"... Something else is also written there," she replied, making me look back at it.
I also looked back at the place, and there, right below those words, another sentence was written with small words, but I felt a chill as I read those words.
"Neil."
"Neil!"
"Yeah?" I slowly looked back at Nadya as she called me.
"What does it say?" Noticing my abnormal reaction, she asked, looking at me seriously.
"I found you... Alive."
Her expression hardened as she looked at those words.
"Why?" She asked, her tone serious, "Why are those words written there?"
"Wait! Didn't you hear something similar to those words in your dreams?" Elysia, catching up to what we were talking about, exclaimed in surprise.
"You're catching onto this now?" Nadya replied with an innocent smile, "Aren't you slow?"
"Argh... What does this mean, Neil?" Ignoring her words, Elysia asked me.
"I don't know," I replied, shaking my head, "For now, let's just focus on rescuing your mother."
"... Is it safe for you to be here?" Nadya asked with a concerned look.
"... Yeah," I replied before I took out a bow of the legendary hero of the elves from my inventory.
".... The bow you stole from your archer chick," Nadya mumbled, glancing at the bow.
"Borrowed," I corrected her before I nocked an arrow on it, "Anyway, Nadya, did you read any apocalypse stories?"
"Yeah! I did! It was amazing... But why are you asking now?" Her excitement turned to concern as she asked.
"Because," I mumbled as I covered the arrow with Star Energy, aiming at the door, "We are going to face an apocalypse."
