Chapter 276 Human Females Fleeing in the Beast World 4
Chapter 276 Human Females Fleeing in the Beast World 4
The leopard-eared man's words finally calmed the beastmen down.
In the arena, Shen Chumo's eyes gleamed with a sinister light. She didn't believe in freedom at all; in the eyes of the beastmen, human lives were as worthless as ants.
The reason this match happened was simply because the owner of the arena wanted to make money off her. What gimmick could compare to the spectacle of humans defeating orcs?
They had already planned to kill her during the match a week later.
Shen Chumo clenched her fists, her mind racing as she considered what to do.
The door to the VIP room was pushed open, and a middle-aged orc in a suit came to the side of the golden-eyed man and said respectfully, "President Pei, the order has been passed on as you instructed."
Pei Yan lay lazily on the sofa. He slightly raised his eyes, his gaze falling on Shen Chumo's figure on the screen, and a faint smile appeared on his lips.
"Let's make sure to treat her well this last week; consider it a final gift to her."
After all, he not only had fun but also made a lot of money because of her. Considering that, let her have a good last week.
After Shen Chumo was taken away, her hands were immediately handcuffed. It seems that Shen Chumo's performance had somewhat intimidated them.
She looked around and asked calmly, "Where are you taking me next?"
The people who were leading her didn't respond; they just shoved her forward. They didn't take Shen Chumo back to the dungeon, but instead led her to a room.
The person leading her roughly pushed her into the room. Shen Chumo staggered and looked around, realizing that it looked like a luxury suite.
The room was carpeted with soft carpets, and a magnificent crystal chandelier cast a gentle glow. Exquisite paintings hung on the walls.
Shen Chumo frowned, puzzled, wondering what they were up to.
At this moment, a tall orc walked into the room, stood in front of Shen Chumo, and said coldly, "This is the place the boss arranged for you. Stay here."
Shen Chumo looked at him and asked, "Why did you bring me here?"
The orc did not answer, turned and left the room, leaving Shen Chumo standing alone.
Shen Chumo walked to the center of the room and found some food and water on the table. She touched her stomach, which was empty and flat. She didn't know how long it had been since she had a proper meal.
Shen Chumo ate everything without any hesitation. She wasn't afraid that these beastmen would harm her, after all, her boss was waiting for her to make money for him again in a week.
After eating and drinking her fill, Shen Chumo walked to the window and looked out, only to find that there were many guards outside.
It seems they are still wary of her.
Shen Chumo sat down on the bedside and began to think about everything that had happened that day. It all happened so suddenly, and the battle with Andrew had left her exhausted.
However, she also noticed something strange: her fighting instincts seemed to be innate. Could it be muscle memory left by this body?
She stood up, went to the bathroom, looked in the mirror, and was dumbfounded. No, who was this dirty ghost in the mirror?
Shen Chu's hair in the mirror was greasy and tangled, with strands sticking to her dirty cheeks. Her clothes were tattered and covered in stains, emitting a pungent, putrid smell.
Shen Chumo raised her hand and touched her face. Her fingertips touched a layer of rough dirt. With a gentle wipe, the skin beneath the dirt revealed its original whiteness.
She looked at herself in the mirror, her brows furrowed, and a hint of disgust in her eyes.
Although Shen Chumo saw what other humans looked like in the dungeon and knew perfectly well that she was probably no better off than them, it was still too disgusting.
Shen Chumo searched the room and found several new outfits in the closet. Shen Chumo twitched her lips. What was this? Was this her last act of pity?
Shen Chumo took the new clothes and went back to the bathroom to take a good shower, washing away the dirt little by little. She washed her tangled hair at least five times before it was clean.
When Shen Chumo finished washing up and returned to the mirror, she discovered that this body looked exactly like her original body.
Shen Chumo's eyes widened in surprise. She leaned closer to the mirror and carefully examined her reflection.
Her eyebrows, her nose, her lips—every feature was exactly the same as the original appearance in her memory, as if she were not in this strange and dangerous alien world, but still in her familiar place.
She reached out and gently touched the familiar face in the mirror. Her fingertips traced the surface of the mirror, and her thoughts drifted away.
"How could this be... Could all of this not be a coincidence? I came here with my original body. What kind of twist of fate is this?" Shen Chumo murmured to himself.
Moreover, she always felt as if she had forgotten something very important, but what exactly was it?
Coming to her senses, she looked at her transformed appearance, her long, wet hair cascading over her shoulders, water droplets sliding down her strands and dripping onto her smooth skin.
Her clean and refreshing appearance made her feel as if she had rediscovered her former self, and gave her more confidence to face the unknown ahead.
She put on one of the new outfits; its simple yet well-fitting cut made her look much more energetic.
Shen Chumo went back into the room, lay down on the bed, and realized she had to find a way to escape this place in a week.
But things weren't as simple as Shen Chumo thought. She carefully checked the room inside and out and found that there wasn't even a single ventilation duct. It seemed that finding an exit from the room was hopeless.
Shen Chumo stood by the window, looking at the patrolling guards outside, her eyes darkening.
The next day at noon, there was a knock on the door, and a young man pushed a food cart in. Shen Chumo sat in a chair and looked on with surprise when she saw that the person delivering the food was human.
The young man looked thin and weak. He kept his head down, quickly arranged the food, then glanced at the guard outside the door and said in a low voice, "There is a 10-minute shift change at 12 o'clock at night and 6 o'clock in the morning. There are no orcs guarding it."
After saying that, the young man immediately pushed the food cart away, as if afraid of getting into trouble.
Shen Chumo's eyes flickered, and she watched his departing figure without saying a word.
But I silently said thank you in my heart.
She knew that although the young man wasn't the prey in this arena like she was, as a human being, his life probably wasn't too easy either.
Bringing her this information was already a huge help.
After delivering the food, the young man returned to the kitchen, set up the food cart, wiped the sweat from his brow, and breathed a sigh of relief. He had done it.
Before he could even rest for two seconds, a rabbit-eared orc dressed in a chef's uniform walked in.
